Allstate NI achieves Platinum level in the 2023 Environmental Benchmarking Survey

We are delighted to have achieved Platinum level in the 2023 Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey recognised as the sector leader in sustainability.

During the four years at Allstate NI, Apprentices got experience working in different areas of the business to gain industry experience. Hear from Conor who recently completed our Apprenticeship.

This survey, organized by the responsible business network Business in the Community (BITC), compares organizations with their sector peers and prominent Northern Ireland entities. It assesses their environmental management and performance in key areas, evaluating the integration of environmental business practices into corporate strategies. The survey, acknowledged as a positive influencer, enables organizations to publicly showcase their dedication to enhanced environmental practices, a sustainable future, and acknowledges those surpassing legal environmental requirements.

Participation in the survey included over 120 organizations from diverse sectors such as General Manufacturing, Local Authority, Education, Utilities, Construction, ICT, and Food and Drink in 2023.

We are delighted to be the only ICT organisation in Northern Ireland to achieve Platinum level and recognised as the sector leader in sustainability.

  • Evidenced long term strategic decision-making focus on environment with senior management ownership of environmental policies and reduction targets
  • Waste Management Processes
  • Sustainable procurement processes
  • 3rd party supplier environmental management practices
  • Training on climate related issues to employees involved in strategic and financial decision-making
  • Embedding an environmental management system
  • Measuring and reporting our greenhouse gases
  • Evidencing our GHG emissions reduction strategy and targets
  • Investing in cardon offsets (tree planting)
  • Working with local communities to mitigate climate impacts and build climate resilience
  • Refurbishing equipment rather than replacing & reducing the impact of our products and services
  • Working with neighbouring businesses on biodiversity projects
  • Committing to biodiversity projects and benchmarks
  • Managing water, electricity, gas consumption with targets to reduce further
