Policy scope

This policy describes why and how Allstate Northern Ireland Limited (ANI) and Allstate Insurance Company (AIC) collect and use personal data and provides information about individuals' rights. It applies to personal data gathered by us from use of www.allstateni.com ('our website') only. It does not apply to any third-party websites linked to our website.

ANI and AIC are the data controllers for all pages beginning www.allstateni.com — for example, www.allstateni.com/our-teams/technology.aspx.

Transfer of personal data outside the UK

Whenever we transfer personal data to countries outside of the UK, we will take steps that seek to ensure that your personal data is treated securely and in accordance with this notice. We have entered into an agreement with AIC and Allstate India based on terms approved by the European Commission and the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), to provide safeguards relating to the transfer of your personal data outside the UK.

Your rights

You have several legal rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:

  • access a copy of the personal data which we hold about you, together with other data about how we process it;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal data and, in some circumstances, to request us to erase or restrict our use of your data, or otherwise to object to our use of your data for reasons relating to your situation;
  • not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, which significantly affects you;
  • receive a copy (in a machine-readable format) of personal data which you have provided to us, where we process it electronically based on your consent;
  • make a complaint to the ICO about how we handle your personal data (see the Complaints section below for further information)
  • withdraw any consent which you have given relating to use of your data, at any time.

Note that there are certain limitations and exemptions to these rights which we may apply depending on the circumstances.

Complaints

In accordance with the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, you may make a complaint to us if you consider that we have not handled your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection law. You can contact us using the details set out in the contact information section above.

To make a complaint:

  • contact us using the details provided
  • we will send you a complaint form to complete
  • you should return the completed form to us so that we can investigate your complaint

We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 30 days. We will review and investigate your complaint and take appropriate steps to respond without undue delay. We will inform you of the outcome of our investigation.

You have the right to complain about how we treat your personal data to the ICO.

If you remain dissatisfied following the outcome of your complaint to us, you have the right to complain about how we treat your personal data to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
