Get to know Suzi Murtagh, Divisional CIO, Human Resources, Allstate Northern Ireland.

Where has been your favorite travel destination and why?

SM: Many years ago, I took time out of my career to travel the world ago so I have many favourite hot spots. Two top spots for me are China and Australia. China took me out of my comfort zone, so I got to see many amazing things like Great Wall of China and Terracotta Warriors, as well as experiencing a completely different culture. In Australia I got to swim in Great Barrier Reef and enjoy the backpacker's journey along the Gold Coast.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

SM: No hidden talents although I love cooking and I am very happy when I am entertaining for my family, extended family & friends. I also want to get into sea swimming and back to some type of drawing/painting before the year is out!

What show are you currently binge-watching?

SM: Game Of Thrones — for the second time!

What's your idea of a perfect day?

SM: A day out on Ballycastle beach with my family and friends, grabbing an ice-cream or coffee and watching the waves roll in.

What skill would you most like to learn?

SM: I would like to be fluent in many languages — I am in awe of people who are multilingual!

What's your most-used productivity hack?

SM: I find reflecting every Friday on what I have achieved that week helps me focus on the right type of work and my productivity. If I find something has gone well or not so well, I acknowledge it and take those learnings into the next week with me.

What piece of advice would you give yourself at the beginning of your career?

SM: Just Do it! Jump in and learn fast, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
