Allstate Cyber Safety Celebrates Safer Internet Day 2023
Published: February 9, 2023
Safer Internet Day took place this year on Tuesday February 7 with celebrations and learning based around the theme 'Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online'. The celebration saw thousands of organizations get involved to promote the safe, responsible, and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
To celebrate Safer Internet Day the Allstate Cyber Safety team went out in full force to deliver cybersecurity education to kids across Northern Ireland and The U.S. Over the course of the day, the team trained over 5,800 kids aged 6-9, giving them with the tools and knowledge they need to stay safe on the internet.
The team also joined forces with Business in the Community (BITC) and the Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI) to deliver an interactive webinar which over 50 schools across Northern Ireland attended. The session focused on emerging online issues and encouraged kids to speak out about their life online.
The day is marked to annually raise awareness about Internet Safety and help young people browse safely and with caution. The Allstate Cyber Safety for Kids program addresses these concerns in every session drawing on important topics such as cyberbullying, social networking and how to identity key threats, teaching kids to know when to STOP, THINK and TELL. Every session is interactive, fun and informative for both children and teachers.
