I work Condensed hours which allows me to work a 9-day fortnight. What I enjoy the most, is having flexibility to start later or finish earlier especially when trying to accommodate needs of my family. Flexible working has promoted for me a better work/life balance through enabling the ability to be a lot more flexible and adaptable for things like appointments, deliveries and being able to take a break when required.

I currently work a 4-day week at ANI and my chosen day off is a Monday, I have never had this level of flexibility in a job before and it is just unreal. I love that I have an extra day to get things done; run errands, cleaning, whatever it may be, and I can just have my weekend completely to myself. I also use this day off to head down the road to Monaghan to visit family and spend more time with my nieces and nephews. I can see a huge difference in myself since I started condensed working, work life balance is so important and it's fantastic that Allstate actively encourage it.

At Allstate, through the use of their flexible working I choose to work a 9-day fortnight. This allows me to have the capability of having a longer weekend every couple of weeks. At the moment whilst my son is in primary school, I get to spend the afternoon doing things with him. The mornings are generally spent tidying up on paperwork and other items that I haven't gotten round to doing. I've always found that I tend to work on later in the afternoon/evenings due to getting more time with my US colleagues. Given this buildup of extra time, it's great to be able to have the long weekend and have that extra day off.

I make use of flexible working at Allstate by working a 4-day week. I enjoy the ability to work in a job I love without sacrificing family time, I get to pick my kids up form school on a Friday and spend time with them without compromising my work. Working longer hours Monday-Thursday also allows me to have a bigger cross over times with my Indian and American colleagues.

Flexible working has really enhanced my work/life balance, allowing me to follow my career without sacrificing my family time. It's not a case of choosing one over the other.

From the start of 2021 I have taken advantage of Allstate's flexible working program. I work a 9 day fortnight which means I work a little longer for 9 days but I get every other Monday off! This has been great going into the new year as I have been able to dedicate more time to spend with my family in the great outdoors; especially after the Covid lockdowns.

On my Monday's I have been able to go running along the Co. Down coast, walking in Portstewart and even climbing Slieve Donard with my dad. Now I rarely get the Sunday night blues!

There are so many different ways I have been able to avail of Allstate's flexible working. Most recently I have been finishing early on Thursday's to take my puppy to training classes. And, as we're all WFH, Allstate has been encouraging us all to take longer lunch breaks and get away from our screens. I've been using the extra time to walk my puppy and practice the training we learn at the puppy classes. Without this flexible working I'm not sure where I would find the time to train my puppy.

Work flexibility at Allstate allows me to work my required hours in 9 days, giving me every other Monday off, allowing me to spend more time with my family and friends.

Knowing I have set days off allows me to plan appointments, complete some DIY, work in the garden or go mountain climbing! I would find it very hard to move to another role that did not offer me this level of flexibility.

I work a 9 day fortnight which means I have every second Friday off. This has been really handy for me lately in helping me plan my upcoming wedding. With being in and out of lockdown, I've found myself having to do a lot of planning in a shorter space of time. Myself and my partner have been using the days off to visit vendors, go shopping for all the important details as well as the admin work that comes with it. It's not only really helped me save using up days of my annual leave to fit in appointments, but also means my evenings and weekends are freed up, resulting in one laid back bride — for now!

I work a 9 day fortnight, which means I have the privilege of taking every second Friday off. Flexibility has always been important to me, and the ability to restructure my working hours around the other things in life I enjoy like paddle boarding, walking cave hill and gardening. What I didn't expect when I changed my working pattern, was the additional focus and productivity it would bring to my role. As someone used to working long hours for public listed companies it really challenged my concept of how I add value as a member of the Allstate team. I 100% believe that my flexible working pattern has improved what I offer to my team.

I have availed of Allstate's flexible working program for 5 years now, taking every other Friday off. Professionally this helps facilitate my interactions with my US team and colleagues by logging off slightly later in the day. Personally, it has been a game changer allowing for increased quality time with my young kids and growing family. It also allows us to accommodate more frequent trips to the beautiful beaches of Donegal to visit my wife's family and get the kids some proper fresh air. It is a huge perk of working in Allstate to know how seriously they take the importance of work life balance.
