Since joining Allstate in 2010 with an MSci Mathematics from QUB, Dean has held a number of data scientist roles across Pricing and Product Development, leading the end-to-end development of major pricing algorithms within Auto, Home and other lines of business. He has since moved into team manager roles over Customer Experience Analytics and Telematics Product Development, eventually leading into his current role as Principal Data Scientist over the Aerial Image, Geospatial, Customer Lifetime Value, Underwriting, Telematics and Fraud Insight Engines.
In this area, the teams under Dean work hard to leverage our varied data and analytics expertise to build enterprise-wide solutions with the goal of adding value by removing as much cost and human effort from the organisation's processes as possible.
Since 2015, Dean has also been responsible for growing and looking after the broader ANI D3 Data Science function. This has included developing innovative hiring and marketing practices, developing relationships with local universities, ensuring the local department is a fun, inclusive and collaborative place to work, and making sure ANI is considered a centre of excellence for data science and engineering across the global organization.
In his spare time, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife Liz and son Leo and on Saturday mornings doing a cryptic crossword with a good cup of coffee.
