What's something about working in Allstate's tech space that you didn't expect but now really value?
The power of connection, how genuinely collaborative and people-focused Allstate is. I assumed a large organization would be more siloed, but instead I've experienced strong cross-team support, product and service teams almost acting as one, open knowledge sharing, and leaders who actively encourage innovation and continuous improvement. There's a real balance between using modern technology to drive results and making sure people feel trusted, supported, and empowered to do their best work. That combination has made the work both meaningful and motivating.
What's a project or problem your team is working on right now that you think will have the biggest long term impact?
One of the most impactful initiatives my team is working on is the development of a digital assistant. This effort directly supports our broader shift toward outcome based delivery, with a strong focus on employee and customer experience. The digital assistant is designed to helps employees quickly access common information and support. In the near term, this will reduce friction, improve response times, and ease demand on our teams. Longer term, it creates a foundation for automating routine requests, enabling greater scalability, operational efficiency, and more proactive decision making. This solution allows employees across our service teams to move further upstream-spending less time on manual tasks and more time delivering insights and outcomes that matter to the business.
In what ways does your team help you experiment, upskill, or try new things in your role?
Over my 15 years in Workforce Management, I've experienced a significant shift like the rest of the industry in our role — from spending most of our time working deep in Excel to helping lead and support a real digital transformation with different platforms like Verint. My team has been central to that journey. They're always willing to ask why and keep us grounded in the value our work creates for both our external customers and the employees we support internally. That shared curiosity and purpose continually encourages me to learn, experiment, and grow alongside the evolution of our work.
What's a belief you had about technology or the industry that has evolved as you've gained more experience?
Earlier in my career, I saw technology mainly as a set of tools to manage work more efficiently. With experience, my view has shifted — I now see it as a foundation for shaping how we work in the future. As Allstate moves toward digital, automated, and AI-enabled solutions, the real opportunity is using technology to drive better outcomes, empower employees, and continuously adapt to changing customer needs, rather than just supporting today's processes.
What's a habit, tool, or activity that helps you stay curious and creative in your work?
I stay curious and creative by regularly connecting with peers who do similar work, both within Allstate and through groups like The Forum/CCNNI, as well as attending conferences and regular user group sessions. Sharing best practices and learning how others approach common challenges brings fresh perspectives and reinforces the power of connection in driving new ideas and continuous improvement.
